While it may be confusing to the average consumer of these cameras with so many on the market today, it does create an atmosphere of competition that will only drive prices continually lower and add more features to ultimately improve your photography.

The move to bigger and bigger resolution CMOS sensors seems to be at an increasing pace lately and is getting close to being really more than the average photographer will ever need.
